Why our power leads work better than a power conditioning.
Nature - and electronics- does not really allow things to stop dead. Think of a goal post that stops a ball dead. When the ball strikes the post, energy is transferred into the frame so that it vibrates and shakes, and the energy rattles around all parts of the goal structure. A ball kicked into a swamp of mud will just softly stop, the energy being dissipated by the soft nature of the pool. Also, by trying to act as an 'wall' to keep noise out, power conditioner and braided mains cables will act as a wall that keeps any interference picked up or created in the system (this is inevitable in all electronic systems in nature), so noise and unwanted random energy gets trapped in your system and rattles around the components. I can recall an occasion in the stock exchange where the use of a power conditioners was causing regular system failure for this very reason. Generally, most power supplies on equipment are well designed these days and reject interference. Adding more power conditioners therefore degrades our respect for the designs and traps any noise rejected at the equipment power input to do damage elsewhere in our system.

Alternatively, power conditioners try and to shunt interference else where- either across the power lines or into a ground (if there is one). This has terrible repercussions, as the energy has not been truly dissipates, but is free to reflect, to cause harmonic noise and generally disturb the noise floor in the system. How 'Carbon Screen Power Cord' works The soft and restive heavily carbon loaded screen on Studio Connections 'Carbon Screen Power Cord' simply and softly dissipates all electrical and mechanical disturbances away as minute quantities of heat (can we claim ‘nano-particle’ science?- maybe a claim too far but it sounds good!) A small drain wire is embedded in the carbon to remove ensure that the jacket to ensure no static builds up on it. Simple and effective. In fact it is so effective that this is the system that military vehicles use to keep their cable invisible to radar.

'Carbon Screen Power Cord' also has major advantages over braid screen. Firstly, the process also guarantees that the cable is 100% covered (braid always ahs gaps). Secondly, and most powerfully, carbon dissipates energy. Braid either reflects or transfers it back to your equipment mains system . By reflecting, it not only reflects energy from outside, but also traps noise energy from the mains inside the cable, concentrating it on to you power supply. # By transferring the noise into your mains system, it actually invite interference straight into your system! There are more complicated things going on as well, such as rectifications of R.F. and unwanted Harmonic resonance, but I think we have said enough...

'Carbon Screened Power Cord' has mechanical advantages as well. Braid is a particularly tough and yet spring type construction. Metal transmits mechanical vibrations very well (think of how you can hear a train approaching from the noise on a railway track long before you see the train). Mechanical noise and electromagnetic vibrations on power cable can be sighted as influencing the noise floor in systems. Because 'Carbon Screen Power Cord' is mechanically absorbent (spongy) it also dissipates any unwanted electro mechanical vibrations. In system, 'Carbon Screen Power Cord' simply cleans up the noise floor, and so subtly cleans up and stabilises the stereo image.
